Welding materials for bridge steel structure manufacturing
At present, Q345, Q370. Q390 and Q420 steel plates are mainly used as bridge structural steel in China, which conform to the standards of Low Alloy High Strength Structural Steel (GB/T 1591) or Structural Steel for Bridges (GB/T 714). In the manufacture of bridge steel structures, the commonly used welding methods are submerged arc welding and gas shielded welding, and a small amount of welding rod arc welding.

According to different structural forms of steel bridges, the welding methods and proportions of welding materials used are also different. For highway steel box girder bridges, gas shielded welding is used more, accounting for about 85%, submerged arc welding is used less, accounting for about 15%, and electrode arc welding only accounts for about 2%; For truss bridges, submerged arc welding accounts for about 58%, gas shielded welding accounts for about 40%, and electrode arc welding accounts for about 2%.
